Program Coordinator, ASPIRE

Katy Ferrari joined the ASPIRE Office as the new Program Coordinator in 2022. Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Katy graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College with degrees in Medieval/Renaissance Studies and Italian. Katy studied law at Wake Forest University and worked in Florence, Italy for several years. She earned her Ph.D. in History at WVU, receiving a Fulbright to conduct her doctoral research in Turin, Italy. Her work focuses on the relationship between early modern kinship, politics, and the law as well as the political and legal strategies of noblewomen in early modern Italy. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, reading historical fiction, and listening to Italian pop music.
